Oh Wow. . . A must for the next convention.

From inventorspot.com-- Extra Wide Contact for that instant classic anime look. Scary! AH!!!!!!AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

    Wide-eyed and not-so-innocent?

    Wide-eyed and not-so-innocent?
Anyone who's seen Japanese comics, cartoon videos or anime art is instantly struck by the common look of the girls - big eyes that, by making the rest of the face look small, add the cuteness and sex appeal prized by many Japanese men. Since no amount of cosmetic surgery will make actual human eyes larger, some girls are trying another way to up their cute quotient: extra-wide contact lenses!

These are no ordinary contacts - they're not only tinted, but tinted prominently in the extra-wide outer ring. The result is the appearance of a bigger, wider iris.

To quote the sales copy, "Wanna get big, watery shiny eyes without any surgery? CRAVE AND ENVY NO MORE!"

The extra-wide contact lenses are made by a variety of companies including Geo and Dueba, and cost in the $30-$50 per pair range. It seems they're not just cosmetic - send in your prescription and the lenses will be made to order.

Again, in the Movieverse Speed Racer fandom.

    Protecting the Racers by DawningStar.
I think my biggest draw was the attention to canon detail and the little extra tidbits.
It's complete with a sequel in the works.

The death of a fandom. . . always sad.

So I am little sad today, one of my favorite AU fandom sites went down this week. The only real reason it's a shock is because I have been going back and rereading a lot of the stories lately and I have been re-enamored with the author's characters.  She was a master with balance in all things-- Canon and Fanon, mixing fandoms, and adding intriguing original characters that were never fucking sues and stues.

I am really glad that I yoinked copies of my most favorite of her stories to my desktop ages ago—I have lost too many of my most memorable fanfiction moments to the death of websites over the years that I tend to squirrel away what I can for my own personal enjoyment.

But Susan, I want you to know, that this site was active way after the death of the series and general fandom. . . and I have checked it regularly for over eight years.

I will miss you and Jim and Blair and Hunter and Sarah. . . a lot.

You kept this fandom alive for me. And I am sad that you are gone. I hope that you are writing in far greener pastures and I thank you for your writing.

    Amazon DRM-free MP3 Store

So this month Amazon launched their new MP3 store. AND IT'S DRM-FREE YAY!
They are even offering a free song from Been Lee called Ripe to get you to try out their service. Hurry though it's only through the 8th!

The pluses are that not only is it DRM-free it's cheaper than Itunes (DRM-Free) songs and they have two labels instead of one for more selection. And they have a niffty downloader that imports your music directly into Itunes so you don't have to move them manually.

The downside is that they have way more selection from universal and emi than emusic where I currently subscribe. (WTF labels!) Oh wells, there are worst evils in the world and I am happy to have the opportunity to use my music the way I want.

Also in AWESOME digital music news Radiohead is allowing it's fans to decide how much they are willing to spend on their new album.
    WICKED AWSOME GUYS!!
